LASER SAFETY CAPS FOR MATING SLEEVES WITH METAL TILE
INS has created a solution to the problem of laser light emitted from fiber optic bulkhead adapters. Our new Laser Safety Caps come with a warning symbol on each to visually alert people to potentially harmful exposure to laser light and cap has a built-in metal tile to stop laser light up to +18dBm. They are available for SC, LC, ST and FC style. Replace X with the color desired: BL=Black, BU=Blue, GR=Green, BE=Beige AQ=Aqua.

* Traditionally UPC and APC connectors have been incompatible to mate together due to the air-gap created between the two mating ferrules. This air-gap creates both undesirable high attenuation and high reflection in your network. The INS M/F UPC-APC adapters allow UPC and APC fiber optic links to be mated together, adding flexibility to your network, while creating less than 1.0dB of Insertion Loss and -50dB of Return Loss.
BUFFERED FIBER ADAPTERS
A Buffered Fiber Adapter enables you to make a quick, temporary connection to a cleaved buffered fiber without the need to connectorize. ST, FC, SC and SMA style adapters available. Not recommended for use with test equipment.

VARIABLE ATTENUATORS
This Variable Attenuator uses collimator lens technology enabling the user to change attenuation through the twist of a top-mounted screw. Use this variable attenuator to simulate the loss in a fiber system or testing your system’s dynamic range. A power meter and light source can be used to determine the fixed attenuation value your system requires. The attenuator has a 0.8dB typical insertion loss and is available in a 2 meter length and may be connectorized. A low back reflection style is prepared with ultra PC connectors maintaining the internal low back reflection characteristics. Attenuation range: 0.8dB to 60dB. Ask an INS Representative about installing connectors of choice.

INS ST, SMA OR FDDI FIXED ATTENUATORS
The washer style attenuator is placed at the light source, spacing the mated connectors to cause attenuation. The attenuators of various thicknesses are not assigned specific dB values, several factors will dictate actual loss.
